“Quantum Dot and Waveguide Dynamics at the Nanoscale”

Ballistic electron waveguides have a continuous spectrum.  However, quasibound states can form in such systems and can profoundly affect waveguide dynamics.  We will consider two examples of waveguide systems in which the formation of quasibound states can allow creation of physically interesting devices.
